Do I pay for the TropicalREZ reservations service?
No. We have prearranged agreements with hotels, car rental agencies and activity providers, on the Bay Islands of Honduras, to market and sell their properties or services. This agreement is between the booking agent (TropicalREZ) and the hotels and you, as the client, will never be charged for the service we offer.
Our hotel REZervations process is very simple. Upon visiting our website, you will see a map of the Bay Islands, Honduras. Run your cursor over Roatan, Utila, Guanaja or Cayos Cochinos then click to select the island that you wish to visit, this will take you to our main accommodations page, where you will be able to choose the type of accommodation that you wish to book (i.e. all inclusive, resort, bed & breakfast, etc).
Clicking on the accommodation type will take you to the hotels that are available on the island selected. You will find our accommodations listed from least to most expensive. You will find more information and photographs of each hotel by clicking on the more button at the bottom of each listing. Once you've decided on a hotel, simply click make REZervation and you will be taken to our hotel REZervations page. An automatic email will be sent to one of our agents, who will contact the hotel, find the best rate and confirm your hotel booking.
How do TropicalREZ rates compare to rates booked directly with hotels or activity providers?
Most of the rates that you will be quoted are discounted rates; this means that they will be less than booking directly with the hotel or activity provider. We are able to offer cheaper rates because of the amount of rooms that we buy from the hotels. There will be times that the rates are the same as what the hotel or activity providers are offering, but it will never be more.
How do I rent a car or pre-reserve a dive package or adventure tour for Roatan, Utila, Guanaja or Cayos Cochinos?
Booking car rental, diving and tours in Roatan, Utila, Guanaja or Cayos Cochinos with TropicalREZ is very easy. Go to the car rental, adventures or diving links on the main menu and this will take you to the main page for each section (car rental, adventures and diving), where you will be able to choose the type of adventure, car rental or diving that you wish to book. Simply click the MAKE REZervation button to book the service.

This encryption makes doing business over the Internet as secure as Internet Banking or making a purchase by telephone.
Can I change a reservation once I have made it through the internet?
Absolutely. The TropicalREZ system was designed to make the reservations process as simple as possible. It is very easy to modify a reservation on TropicalREZ. Simply select ?Check Rezervation? on the main menu of the website. You will be asked to enter and submit your user name and password. This will bring up your booking and you will be able to make changes from there. These changes will be sent to us and we will contact the hotel and send you a confirmation email. Some hotels, car rental agencies and activity providers may charge a small fee if the booking is changed without enough notice.
Lodging can be changed or canceled according to each property's rules and restrictions. Some properties impose penalties, such as one night's stay, or a percentage of the total, if you cancel your reservation within a certain number of days before your scheduled check-in date. To cancel a reservation, go to "Check Rezervations" on the main menu and type in your user name and password. This will open the itinerary that contains the lodging you wish to cancel. Click "cancel this reservation" and review the refund and penalty details.
Do I have to use my credit card, or can I use my friends??
Yes you may. As part of the reservations process, we will ask you for the name and security details of the card holder, as well as the billing address. Many of our guests book vacations on behalf of a group, spouse or friend. We also accept PayPal.
My credit card number is correct, but the system is not accepting it. Why?
There are a few possibilities: Your card type may not be accepted (TropicalREZ accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover,American Express,and PayPal) the card expiration date precedes the reservation date, you may have reached your credit limit or there is a computer error. If there is a problem, please call us on the toll free line or email us at admin@tropicalrez.com.
How can I be assured of the quality of accommodation that I?m booking?
TropicalREZ works only with providers that offer consistently good quality, service and value. We ask our guests to fill in and return a ?rate-the-service? questionnaire upon check-out. The results of this survey are forwarded to our partners at the end of each month.
Do I need a passport for travel to Honduras, Central America?
Yes you do. All travelers need a passport valid for at least 6 months past the date of entry to Honduras, Central America. Upon entering Honduras, you will be issued a one-month ?tourist` visa, which can be renewed at about $22 per month until you have reached a three-month limit. You will have to leave the country for three days thereafter, or apply for residency or working permits.
What are the pros and cons of vacationing in mid to low season?
Vacationers can get good deals on accommodation, car rental and flights during mid and low season. This is often the best time to visit a destination, as off-peak means that there are less travelers around. The down-side of traveling in mid to low season is that you risk poor weather (rain or humid heat).
